Rubicon Air Locker Problem
The front locker on my Rubicon flashes but does not engage. The rear engages. From what I have read it seems like the air pump is bad. Anyone had to deal with this? Thank you.

I've got the same problem, but i'm too lazy to check on it since its my wifes DD. From my research it seems that the line INSIDE the diff can come off and keep it from locking. The first time ours did this, the dealer fixed it under warranty and said that there was an electrical contact in the diff to tell the jeep if the rig was locked or unlocked. Take it apart and figure it out it wont be that bad
Also check for air from the pump, its mounted on the t-case skid, and puts out about as much air as a fish tank pump.

Are you sure it's not engaging? Mine flashes for minutes at a time, and it is engaged. The switch in the diff can stick. Attempt to engage the locker with the jeep off so you can hear it, if the pump runs for a couple seconds and then stops, it should be good. If it doesn't stop, pull the line off at the diff, put your finger over the end, does the pump stop? If it does your line inside the diff may have come off, so pull off the cover. There is an air line that goes from the housing to a bearing carrier I think, make sure that is on.

I will add though to, that if you tighten the diff fill plug way too much, it will also keep the locker from engaging and just flash the light. If you end up taking the diff cover off, you also should be able to see the diff try to lock if some one hits the button for you, there is a small air bag like actuator that will move in and out.

I know mine isnt locking. It worked when we pulled it onto the trailer here in TX, drug it to Moab for vacation last year, unloaded it and hit a trail. The front diff wouldnt lock for the whole trip. Rear worked fine, but the front just flashed and was open diffed as hell. Got back to TX, took it to the dealer, they said something electrical in the diff was messed up, fixed it for then, loaded it on the trailer to get it back home. Took it out pig hunting, and NO WORKY, just FLASHY! FAWK! Its not been working for about 8 months now. I really dont need it much since the Rubi is my wifes driver, and I've got a 1 ton flatty that street legal now, but its still a PITA. HIJACK OVER, sorry OP!
