Sorry i cannot post any pics today, I forgot to charge the battery's in the camera because i am a dumbass! This weekend i mocked up the carb spacer to the rpt intake and started getting ready to mount the the plate to the intake, I havent done any cutting yet, but it is looking good! the blower is about the same length as the block, and the drive i have looks like it will fit great, i was then sidetracked by a wood fired boiler me and a buddy are building.

I also had a chance to look at the bottom end of the 266 that i recived for free, it looks tighter than the engine that i have in the truck. I think this will be the engine i will build to get the full potential out of the supercharger.

oh by the way the max boost for a 266 using the dynamic compression ratio formula is 8lbs with premium or about 6lbs for 87 octane i am a low lander a 961 ft altitude

Edit: I will try to post pics before Friday!

pffft, I'm at ~36 feet and my parents house is at about 16'. Really cool thread, though. We're all sitting here hoping you don't run out of steam before you finish.

If you want to talk about your boiler it might be more appropiate to start up a new thread in chit chat.

You are going to need to add some supports to avoid broken parts. Of course I'm talking about your intake manifold and those sweater kittens.

So where do you see the weak link and what do you recommend for improvement?

to the OP I am on the SW side of the city, if your looking for parts give me a heads up. I don't see much IH stuff at the boneyards these days, but I hear there is a yard off of I57 near kankakee with a number of binders

Too much overhang on the blowing mount that goes to the spacer. That blower is going to produce a bunch of tension trying to pull the nose down when the belt is tightened. I predict the aluminum spacer will bend. Or maybe the rear bolts will pull out of the spacer/manifold.

awsome build! as far as the overhang issue, could you build some sort of bridge from the two front intake mounting bolts? up and over the water neck.sort of a truss system to make it more ridig, and any downward force would go to the block.

Thats what i was thinking, some sort of braces from the bottom on the blower studs to the intake mounting studs.

But, but, but then it wouldn't look like a Weiand air-gap manifold anymore

Should have built it all out of cast iron or steel like IH would have.
