I immediately started stripping her down to pull the cab off... And of course I had to throw a seat in there and see how it would feel... I let dad pose for this one...
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I couldnt stand waiting to put the cab over so I did what I could to pass the time.. At this point days seemed like years.. ![]() Then a couple days ago I got everything ready to put the cab over and convinced my dad to help me do it and now this is how she sits!

Don at SniperFab came over, took a few measurements, and came up with the set-up. We'll run it up to this at the rear cab mount crossmember.

The build is looking awesome!!! I live in oklahoma, and I see 60-66 cabs everywhere. I worked at Mar-K 6yrs ago. They make great products...You still need a 60-66 cab?, Im in choctaw, where are you from?. Im starting a Trazer build, Im in the process of stripping the k5 blazer down to the frame before I start a build thread.

Thanks Jess, we've studied yours...
![]() Undecided4x4, we thought we might have a found a cab today. I passed by this midday and ended up buying it a couple hours later. A 61 GMC 1 ton 4x4 ![]() ![]() The cab was pretty trashed, but it had a good hood and grill. My son had those parts on his within a couple hours! Still looking for a good rust-free cab though...and we've looked at dozens of em. ![]() ![]()

If I would have known you 6yrs ago, I had a awesome cab, hood and fenders, I parted the truck out, the cab went to the scrap yard, I sold the hood, fenders, grill, for $250. I will keep my eye out, Craigslist has a few.

Well, I got the blazer cab/bed seperated from the frame. What are you all using to set the cab on the frame. My cherry picker could'nt lift it high enough, I even let all the air out of the tires. I just ran a chain on the roof, used my pickup and rolled it off the frame. Now the frame is on the ground, and the cab/bed is on its side.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! Lately we have been able to work on the truck quite a bit and accomplish some of the things we have wanted to do for awhile.
First of all we started working on an anti-wrap bar. We decided to call up Don at Sniperfab to work out a couple pieces for us. And as with any prototype parts, the first batch (shown here) was a little off. The shackles and rear ring were perfect but the other parts needed a few changes. ![]() After some painting and welding we ended up with these. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is the back ring ![]() And after hours of Cutting fitting and grinding we finally got the bar made. ![]() ![]()

Here are the new front shackles installed
We also torched the 86 body mounts to make room for some new ones soon ![]() And thanks to craigslist we picked up a few 24 AN hose/fitting pieces that we wanted to make work for the radiator, my Dad welded a fitting to the thermostat housing and we will do the same on a radiator later. ![]() As my dad posted earlier we did end up buying a 61 gmc and pulled the hood, grille, and grill support wings. All of which is in great condition ![]() I just had to hook the lights up to a battery, all 4 work...even the blinkers ![]() ![]() The wings turned out to be in better shape than the ones we had, so with nothing to lose we added a few holes to the old ones. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We also popped a hole in the hood latch

Probably more light trail and street than not...river bed, dunes, nothing radical. This is just kinda building what my son and I feel like, a dirtrod of sorts.

Yep, I grew up in Imperial Valley, we ran the Chocolates out toward the Colorado more than anything else...running washes and what not. My parents still live there. Made a couple trips back over the years, I believe it was 99 when we ran the orange flattie in the Warn Challenge. I had just gotten mine up on 44's, still workin bugs out on that pig...then and now
