I know where one is sitting in a guys front yard in the middle of the wide open country in TX. Looks to be in good shape from the road.

79 was the first year for an F-350 4x4. Below pic is an original 79 F-350 4wd Supercab, probably one of the rarest trucks made in 79.

Yes, it is a 12 valve out of an early 98 dodge, it is also running the NV4500 out of the same truck to a devorce mounted NP205,
There is no build thread on the truck, it was pretty much completed (other than the cummins swap) before I was ever really interested in the internet. That drag link is skyjackers modification to the steering to make up for the lift, it came with the rest of the system, Crossover would be a waist of time on this truck, it is not even a semi hard core off road vehicle, it is a tow rig that sees at the most some light 2 tracker road use while hunting or camping, with the steering as it is, it drives down the road nice & has no bump steer, so I'm happy with it as is. |

I am not a Ford man, so I don't know the years and stuff, but I just passed a local four door short box 4x4. I believe it was an F250. What year(s) were these made? I will try to catch a pic of it, if I see it parked and post it up.

I've seen quite a few crewcab longbed's around western Canada....like too many to all be custom fabbed. I'll get some frame pics from local one to confirm.

A lot of time spent building this truck but in my opinion the stacks and wheel flares ruin the truck. What is up with the rear lower section of the bed? Cut out for a future bumper?

Kind of hard to argue with Ford literature. One of the books I got my information from was from the 1979 Ford light truck facts book that the dealers were given back then. The other one was a buyers guide from Ford that they would hand out to a prospective buyer so he/she could see what options were available on a truck they were ordering.

I know, but there's a lot of stuff you can factory order that doesn't show up in buyers guides/owners manuals. Like 4.56's in RBV's, front/rear limited slips, front suspension air bags etc....
Not saying your wrong, just saying there's lots around here.....pics will confirm.

lets see if this comes thru, I suck at the inter-web shit. found this on E-bay, I about had a heart-attack
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1964-...item19b7b90b5aThis truck is just stunning. and crew cabs were a custom item converted by outside coachworks for everyone from railroads/oil companies to private individuals with enough cash. seen one or two even with 57-60 bodies.

If its a 2wd crew then yeah. But all the 4wd from factroy were shortbeds. If you have alot of them up there then im sure its some sort of MH or Quigly type conversion. |
