OK the reason for the paralle 4 link was because the fuel tank is all in the way of where uppers would need to be. Owner didn't want to lose anybed space or have to worry about the typical feul cell issues. So one day while laying under the truck I though that this would be the best solution and strongest.

Anyway last night I dropped off the rear axle and links at the powder coaters, o, so the color will be way better, I talked the owner into a more respectable color sceem, it will match the truck. they should be back by friday. so maybe monday or so I will have some pics of the completed rear as today the other set of Shocks came in.

I got the Reid knuckel and high steer arms installed today for mock up, looks like we are going to get the knuckles re powder coated as well the finish on these are not as nice as we had hoped. But the tire rod is done now I can go get a steering gear box and start mounting it, yeah!!

OK I do not have a clue as to what anyone is talking about with the heat buildup of Air Shocks on the street, I wouldthing that running say um KOH you would have a way bigger problem then on the street. I mean they will only get cycled say a conctant 4 inches on a normal street drive vs full stroke running off road all day. I have beat on mine nonstop for hours, running trails like pritcett and golden spike as fastr as we could and have never had any heat issues.my buddy had a set of 2.0 18 on a 45oo lb buggy, and neither of us had any problems.

The Fox air bumps arrived today wioth the Fox cans, and the srangest thing, three of them had the fox logo cut into them and one was just a big oval cutout. So ORW is sending me a set out asap, maybe second day air, but the limit straps were al there and all correct. The powdercoater called said all the parts are done and ready, I will pick them up monday.

I will get some pics up asap.

OK, today I picked up the rear axle and links from the powder coaters, and they look great. Tomorrow, I will do the rear Air bumps, and make new end links for the sway bar, and the the brake lines and the rear will be done, save for some shock tuning.

Oh and a big delivery from Tom Woods, today the rear Drive shaft with 1350 CV and rear 1350 joints, it is a monster!!! Also in the shipment was the Tom Woods, SYE HD kit with the 1350 flange, and I got the kit for a TJ so hopefully I can make it work with the speed sensor from a jeep ( cross fingers). the front shaft is there as well with a high clearanced 1310 CV at the case and a 1350 for the axle end.

OK so picked up the new links today for the rear Sway bar, and installed them and the pass side axle and brakes, wanted to get a bit more done but went and picked up a 72 FJ40, with a Cehevy 350 in it, seller said all it needed was a new carb, was gummed up from sittin, we got it to the shop and threw in a batt and the started wouldn't budge the motor one bit so we tried to push it with the tow rig only to slide the tires, that pig is locked up tight!!!! Oh well.

So anyways back to the build at hand, all I am lackin in the rear is the Fox Air bumps, Off Road Wharehouse sent the correct bump can so tomorrow I will do those, then pull apart the rear to paint the frame, then reassemble and get back on the front.

Thanks Krweby

This is definitely what i'm wanting to do with my 91 (except for triangulated uppers for the rear). But im starting with a np435 and a LA 318. So why not use the factory Dakota steering box with the sas up front? No money for hydro.

For the rear speed sensor on my build I used the tone ring from a stock 8.25 rear end 104 teeth and mounted it on a full spool for my Ford 9". Originally we were going to use a stock Ford 9" open carrier with a mini spool but changed my mind. I still have two tone rings machined to fit a stock Ford 9" carrier. I had to clearence the case a little bit and drill and mount a speed pickup. The setup works well with the stock computer which can be programmed for the 104 tooth 8.25 rear end or the 108 tooth 9.25 rear end. The Ford 8.8 rear ends came with a 108 tooth tone ring, also the rear speed sensor is the same for the Dakota and Ford 8.8 rear end. E-mail me at m.colantuoni@hotmail.com for more info if needed.

do you think the sas set up would work on a stock box on a gen 1 dakota? But with a big drop pit. arm.
