all right.... its finished... i have a ton of people to thank for their hard work and acceptance of my assinine deadlines... first, and most important is mercedes mike... he spent 30 hours on my wiring... everything is perfect... there is not one single butt connector in the entire harness... all the spade connectors have the cheesy plastic removed and were crimped w/ factory style crimps and then heat shrinked... everything is wire loomed w/ weather pack connectors.... quality was second to none, but what else would you expect from a 15yr mercedes master tech???

next i would like to thank smith metal work for the skid and gas tank... again these are some of the nicest components on the buggy...

william at extreme paint and body for the skins...

spencer that works for me for staying late when it was not called for...

jim for pulling an all nighter...

i would also like to thank you guys of the pBB... i appreciate all of the positive comments and encouragement...

everyone who helped donated all of there time and materials just to see this turn out like i promised them it would... i was so sick of explaing how it was going to work i could scream , but they manned up and made it happen... i really hope this will inspire others to BUILD stuff for there kids.. its not about money, its about memories... my daughter has several toys that me or my dad have made her and they are truley her favorites... you cant buy passion, and even though she doesnt realize why she likes them so much, its because heart and soul went into them... now get out there and make something w/ or for your kids... they will truley cherish them...

now the pics... the first one is fully finished, but it was dark when i left the body shop, so that is the best i have... all the others are w/ no skins so its shows all of the components a little better....

thanks and merry christmas....

Looks badass, embarrassing part is its probably just as if not more capable as my project heep on 60's and 37's. Sure got finnished alot quicker, I'm starting to feel bad about how long mines been in project state.

Hats off to ya bud, you did a great job and yer kid is going to love it. Just think about how good a driver she's going to be when it comes time to get a liscence with all the practice she's done in her buggy. Should make ya sleep better at night when sweet 16 rolls around.

Looks awesome! Hows the crawl ratio and top speed?

Are the homemade coilovers working alright?

And can it fit in the bed of your truck?

first gear is REAL low... not low enough to over come the brakes, but it crawled over that flex shot wall almost at idle... it will be fast enough... havent had a chance to check, but it will be plenty... if you put it in second it starts off in second, and that seems to be a good "trail" gear... not to low, but not so high....

the coilovers work good, i think they are going to need some longer coils, but they will be a good learning experiment...

as far as fitting in the bed, i dont know... i have alot of trailers so i dont think i will have to find out...

You know how I drive Jimmy and it is because, compared to rock crawling, pretty much anything on-road is pretty mind-numbingly boring. So when my passengers are digging their finger nails into my dash, I'm perfectly fine because, well lets face it, doing 80 mph with a loaded down gooseneck behind you in a straight line is pretty lame compared to 5000 rpms up a rock face and ending up upside-down.

So I predict many speeding tickets in your future and you only have yourself to thank.

Great job man. It looks great. She will love it. When i was about 5 my dad built a go cart for my brothers and I. This is the heaviest go cart I have ever seen and it provided many years of fun for all 3 of us. It no longer runs but it is still in the family 25 yrs later.

Thanks for the awesome pics and thread. Keep us posted with action shots and let us know how it works after you have time to test it out.

So where are you going wheeling Tuesday afternoon?

I don't have any kids of my own, but both of my brothers have 2 sons each. One of them had it going a few years back. I can't even fit in that thing anymore. It was a hell of a go cart though built out of 2" square tube. It has hit trees head on in mid air and rolled and the only damage has been a bent steering wheel.

we have 100 acres and a back hoe...

Why did you have to go and build such a nice KidKrawler? Now she is never going to learn how to fix it because it'll never break
