Not sure what direction I want to go next. I would like to wheel this while I build a chassis but I don't want to put much more work or tube/money into it. The bed mount is the only thing holding the frame together on the driver side and it's cracking up front where someone previously did a hack job trying to patch it.

Debating if I should tube the rear and link it or just leave it the way it is.

I say wheel it the way it is for now. Looks pretty good without the top.

i used these on my rear coilovers..saved me a lot of headache and the shock hoops for a 16'' shock were affectively much lower(shorter) since the bottom mounts where behind the axle...poly perf makes a nice variation too that we used on 408jiggas rear shocks...

I'm beginning to wish I didn't buy a "showtruck" 1st gen cuz i'd love to beat the hell out of what i have like you are doing but when I'm done it's gonna be beautiful..

Anyways this rig is bitchin. i like the doved frontend using newer grill with older round style lights.

I found some new front fenders for dirt cheap so I started mounting them up. It's turning into a 1/3 gen truck. I might go back for the bed since he only wants $35 for it and mines full of fiberglass and bondo. I really only want the bedsides since it's getting dovetailed in the rear pretty soon.

Just need to do some more trimming, mounting, and painting and they will be good to go.

Do you have any pics of the tube work on the front without the fenders installed? I really like the look of the way you did the narrow job on it.

hmmm, actually I don't, I'll have to get some the next time they are off.

But! I got everything back together and painted for the competition tomorrow. Check out www.frontier4x4.com for the details.

The truck it probably cleaner than it ever will be. I finally painted the floor and rest of the tube work.

I drove it 12 miles to a friends place that is going with tomorrow to load up and I do not find wind in your face a fun thing. Eyes watering, bugs, and not being able to hear parts fall off sucks. I actually made it up to about 50 mph for a couple miles!

Here's some pics of the finished front end. Next up is the dash and then new rear tube work, 4 link, and bed sides.

EDIT by camo..... removed the link to your website pimping

We won the comp last weekend for our class so that marked the end of the wheeling season for the 83.

So a few days later I stripped down the chassis to bare bones and cut the frame off behind the cab. Everything is going onto the 85 4runner for the winter season and hopefully I'll be able to aquire some parts so I can be ready to go for next year. Plans are a motor swap and tube rear with 4 link. I have the matching bed for the front fenders that I will be using the sides for.

1.5" spacers in the front and IFS rear axle. The wheels are 17x9 with 2.75 BS.

Not yet, I'm finishing up a bunch of work on my 85 4Runner and will update that thread when it's complete. Front suspension, steering, and gears are done. Duals, crossmember and driveshaft is done. Just need to swap the IFS rear and gears in next.
