OUR 2009 KOH/XRRA have fun RIG

I wanted something that I was really comfortable in like my last buggy with more HP/TQ and another gear with better cooling, steering and shocks. The KOH and XRRA season took a beating on the old moonbuggy and after 5 years we had to put it out to pasture and build something more apt to go fast and take the abuse. How our last car lived with .095 tubing and WE airshocks and a little rad I will never know....

Appalachian Offroad owner Mike Bosely has been a great motivator to get this sucker going and if you are out there and thinking about getting a chassis built I wouldnt hesitate to get something done.

I have so many people to thank that have come on board for 2009 to make this happen as well as our current sponsors I cannot begin to express my gratitude.

List:
2006 L33 5.3, performance tuned computer from Jims Performance. 350hp range
Hughes TH350 with big sprag gear
reverse shifted 3.0 atlas
New centers from Yukon regeared to 5.13. Detroits for the race, Detroit with ARB for XRRA
31x19 Rad from Custom Aluminum Radiators with Huge SPAL fans that put out 6000cfm. This rad is BLING!
2 Derale 14" coolers with fans for tranny and steering
New Pump/Res and race fluid from PSC. Thanks TOM!!!!!
PRP Comp Highback Seat, harnesses, and limiting straps
New autometer guages
Speedway Engineering sway bar
2.5" FOA Shocks with Resi's
Some really cool ideas about running a spare tire

Much respect to the Campbells as they have been a driving force in trying to catch them and for giving all the great advice.

Enjoy

Thanks for the nice comments guys.

Wheelbase is 105
target weight=dunno-it is what it is, more than I want but I have 160 more horse than the last motor
treps held up nicely in rockracing. I only got out twice to wheel with them on the buggy since our 2nd new addition
would like to have it done before Xmas and testing so it doesnt run into the new year. I feel pretty confident that we can get that done.

Congrats Doug,

On your advice I talked to PRP and got almost the exact same seats. They are a great company to work with. Got mine 2" extra tall and 23 wide with the Hydration packs sewn in the back. Got that tip from Lil' Rich.

Good luck getting the buggy done by Christmas and I can't wait to see it. Going at 100mph on the lake bed with your feet right out in front is gonna be interesting but I guess you are used to it.

ohh yeah the day after the comp was the best. the whole race I was saying I just drove 2600 miles I want to wheel for fun. doing those big sand hills and getting to meet my hero Tom Wayes and tagging the mailbox was a very dear memory to me. nothing better than just flat out messing around and having fun. we'll definately wheel it til the wheels fall off on Saturday.
