Yes I know there's a five thousand page thread on this, but.
I ripped the drivers side rear upper control arm mount at the frame on my 04 TJ. I'm thinken I can cut this off, weld up Polys' 4 link mount, and run long arms to the factory mounts on the rear end, and all I'd need is their mounts, some limit straps, leaving the rear trac bar in for now, and I could use my Currie short arm kit cut up and sleeved.
And then buy Poly's rear truss and push the rear back, put the tank in the back seat area, and bla bla bla....
But I think this would be a good starting point. Are there any other kits that make more sense? The only truss I've found that I like is from Poly.
Thanks
DJ

I’m sure I’ve forgot someone, sorry…
You could do that. That would make it pretty similar to a RELA kit in the rear. Seems reasonable. One thought would be if the angle of the upper mounts would be too much preload to run to the stock axle location, but my gut say's it'd be fine.
if youre lookin to save some coin, build your own truss, or have a friend with a welder do it. They are very simple to build, even if its your first time fabbin somethin.
hahaa you think the way I think.... ripped bracket off frame.... hmmm for link rear time!
Yea sounds simple enough and I think you can get it all to work as long as you have a welder to do it. put the truss in triangulate the rear uppers and get rid of that trac bar. post up as you go, if you do decide to do this. god luck
hmmmm, looking at the mounts, the upper control arm mounts are kicked out at about a 10 degree angle. so the rear end will bind up mounting to the stock brakets on the axle.
oh well, looks like i'll be ordering da truss and lower mounts tomorrow.:grinpimp:
and got the bastid out of there, in less than hour.:grinpimp:
