NEW Aussie Locker For V6 Diffs

Finally, we have the new V6 Toyota locker in stock. The model number is XD24930 and it is available from stock at www.aussielocker.com. The Aussie Locker XD24930 is a full locker set, so you do not have to use your old axle gears. The locker has had extensive testing in Australia with excellent results. Only for open carriers like all Aussie Locker. 2 Year No Nonense Warranty with no tire size limitations.

Thank you for your patience.

is the v6 locker stronger then the 4cyl locker? I know the lock rite v6 lockers were stronger because of the 4 cross pin design. I will be picking up a rear aussie locker for my 4runner after I do some other upgrades.

Perfect timing. Right after I bought 2 new lock rights. If I would have gotten a response in the vendors section I would have waited. But good job getting these out, myself and others were sure this day would never come.

I waited and waited then finally saved up enough to purchase Elockers. I am sure it will have been worth the wait. The 4cyl have had a great reputation.

So is an Aussie Locker another version of a Lock-Right (lunch box locker) or what. How does it work? Lock-Rights suck for my kind of wheeling. They never last more than a season at best.

Yep, a lunchbox locker. What kind of problems have you had with your lockright? Is it in a V6 diff? I've been running my V6 lockright for 3 years now and so far it's done well. I miss the detroits on my last truck because they opperated smoother but so far I've been impressed with the lunchbox, it's been way more durable then I would have thought.

Cool Bill. I have been hoping for this since I first heard of Aussie.

I have been a huge fan of the V6 lunchbox lockers for years. I even tried to switch out to V6 full Detroits, but after breaking 2 of them almost immeidately, I pulled them back out and put the old lunchboxes back in.

The stock Toyota side gears are reused in the Richmond Lockright (Powertrax) and are known for breaking in even bone stock trucks. Where the gear meets the splines it is extremely thin.

Can you post some pics?

If you need a local person to do some torture testing, let me know. I would gladly pull one of the lockrights out to install an Aussie for scientific purposes.

Matt,

I will try to get one out to you this week. It has a preliminary instruction manual so you are welcome to make any constructive improvements on the manual while you are at it!

Let me know what you think of the product.

Bill,

Since yours come with side-gears do you expect it to lock and unlock a little smoother than the lockright? So far I've been VERY happy with my V-6 lockright but might be willing to sell it and pop in the aussie (I have a 4cyl aussie up front and it works great).

I would still like to know if the V6 locker is stronger then the 4cyl locker.

With lockright lockers the 4 way cross pin of the V6 makes it much stronger then their 4cyl locker option.

The test we ran in Australia vehicles indicated that the Aussie Locker had extremely good road manners on lock and unlock. Those tests lasted about 6 months on a number of vehicles so the cross section of opinions favored the Aussie over the competitors offering for a number of reasons, including the lock and unlock transition.

Yes, much stronger. I used to be able to break a 4 cyl. cross shaft into three pieces, I have never had the + shaped cross shaft of the 6 cyl. break.

I will try to take some pictures of a stock carrier, the Lockright and the Aussie tomorrow. I think I may even have a broken stock side gear somewhere.

If you followed his link, two seconds you'd know.

Nice price on the v-6. Just pulled the Detroit out of my DD to use in my buggy, so this should be a good replacement.
